This power supply has been designed for electrostatic experiments including ionisation, and for driving vacuum devices such as the Deflection e/m tube
The output is 0 ‐ 5000V which is rotary controlled, and limited to 2mA, and there is a second output limited to 50µA
A 6.3V ac output is provided for the heater/filament of vacuum devices
It has a digital, backlit display showing voltage in kV
The internal, quiet‐running fan will hardly be noticed but it reduces the already low thermal stress in the unit still further, ensuring long life of the instrument
Triple protection is provided by a resettable electronic overload trip, thermal transformer trip and slow‐blow fuse on the primaryThis power supply is intended for for school experiments in electrostatics, to power simple spectrum tubes and to work with Teltron tubes where a low voltage heater/filament must be powered
The EHT and the ac outputs may be used simultaneously, as required by the apparatus connected
The continuously variable 5kV output is fully isolated
The mains cord is kept tidy, by means of the cable retainer on the back of the unit which allows the cable to be stowed away neatly with the use of winding hooks and a clip to secure the cable
Certain vacuum tubes require more than 2mA to drive them and these tubes cannot be used with this EHT supply
EHT output continuously variable by rotary control.6.3V ac output maximum current 3A.3 digit LCD indication of the output voltage
Sockets accept standard 4mm plugs and shrouded plugs
Illuminated mains on/off switch
Internal fan for cool running
Time delay fuse protections for transformer
This device is compliant to EN61010‐2010 with certificates available on request
